Friends of Thorassia - Talent

Thorassia dedicates this section of our site to those who pursue the mastery of the acting craft.

One of the most important choices we as filmmakers make is casting actors to make our words come to life. It’s with great dedication, and often sacrifice, that their transformation takes place. It never ceases to amaze us how actors synthesize our written words and own our characters in ways we couldn’t have possibly imagined.

Last of the Pawnbrokers

Jack Rooney

I can't say enough great things about Jack. He's probably the closest to a seasoned Hollywood actor that you'll find in Indianapolis. He brings to the table preparation, technique, talent and sensibility. In the Last of the Pawnbrokers, he plays the part of a FBI Agent interrogating the young son of a suspected mobster. It's a cat and mouse game that he knows all too well how to play and required a fairly crafty actor to pull it off. Jack did that without question. One night before the shoot he called me to talk about his character and more specifically how he would talk. We had a very detailed discussion and by the end of the call Agent Short was born. For more information, contact Jack at his website.

Tim Starsiak

Tim is definitely an up and coming actor with a tremendous amount of range. He plays the young Jeffrey in Last of the Pawnbrokers who is doing his best to go toe to toe with the FBI Agent that would do anything to tear his family apart. There can be a tendency to overplay this type of role but Tim did a great job keeping the character in check. It was very physical role and he insisted at great sacrifice to himself that we don't hold back ensuring those scenes lived up to what was written. The Nicholl's Letter

Matthew Roland

Matthew plays the lead in our film The Nicholl's Letter. It's the story of a writer who has entered the Nicholl's Fellowship in Screenwriting for maybe the last time. When the letter finally arrives a cast of his former characters help him decide whether or not to open it. This character required someone who could experience the entire spectrum of the unknown artist/writer's journey particularly the low points and Matthew pulled that off without exception. Brenna Campbell

On every film, there's that one actor that surprises you in ways you couldn't possibly conceive. In the film The Nicholl's Letter, that was Brenna. We brought her in to do a very small part and after seeing her in action and how she looked on film, we had no choice to improvise ways to make here a bigger part of the film. She's completely fearless and wonderful to work with. To contact Brenna, please click the following email link.

Erin Cohenour

There are some actors and actresses that just looking stunning on film and Erin happens to be one of them. It's almost chemical as you can tell from the photo above. The camera just loves her. If that weren't enough she can act as well. In the film The Nicholl's Letter, she plays a young mother who all to well understands the struggle of creation and the responsibility that comes with it. To contact Erin, please click the following email link.

Sam Melnikov

In the film The Nicholl's Letter, Sam plays the young son whose mother (Erin) can't help but wonder how badly she has failed him and to what extent the world will judge her for that. Sam does not have a speaking role in this film but none the less his presence is strong particularly in his close ups. As a result, we can't help but emphasize with his mother. To contact Sam, please click the following email link.

Jeff Hamilton

In the film The Nicholl's Letter, Jeff plays one of the key supporting roles urging and nurturing the main character closer and closer to the climax of the film. He has a love for the filmmaking process and is willing to do anything to make good films. He coincidentally was involved in the movie Hoosiers as an extra and production assistant. Jacqueline Wright

In the film The Nicholl's Letter, Jacqueline plays one of the key supporting roles as a young woman that our writer has half created. To contact her, please contact the following email link.
